FACE-OFF
Announced last week, Open Championship Series (OCS) is bringing a new type of competition to the world of AllStar Cheer, sorta. FACE OFF.
It is a bracket style competition to crown the best. Teams will participate at one (or more) of 8 different events from across the country. Some are one day events and others are 2 day events. Those teams competing will receive Face Off points. Each Division Champion from all the different competition locations will then be ranked by their Face Off points and acknowledged at a special show on May 14th. Then a few days later, of those division winners, 8 teams from each level will be selected (based on their points) to FACE OFF in the championship brackets. Over the following week, these brackets will go from 8 teams to 1 Champion.
Here is a few extra details…
- there is no extra charge to enter the Face Off (outside of the normal competition fees).
- There is 8 different locations eligible to receive Face Off points (see locations/competitions below)
- It is being held at IEPs end of season events. All events, except for one, are being held after AllStar Worlds Championships.
- You are allowed to compete at more than one event, but only one score will be ranked for points.
For those gyms that don’t finish their season at AllStar World Championships (ASWC), this is a great added bonus for a little fun while adding a little bonus to help with costs next season.
If this continues next season, I hope they will maybe allow for those who end their season at ASWC to enter that score in for Face Off points.
